Catan is one of the best board games/app Ive played

Definitely enjoying the game. It has a Sim City/Civilization feel with a game board.

Bought this so I could learn to play against my friends a bit more strategically, its helping a lot. As far as I know it plays exactly like the real tabletop game does. Very easy to just pick up a game and play at your own leisure!

Still a little glitchy at times. Not as bad as it was but recently I was playing and the app quit out on me like it used to. Also its super obnoxious when you are ahead in the game and every time a 7s rolled the computer opponents automatically rob you. Ive played games where I couldnt make a move for 10 turns because every time Id get any recourses theyd be taken from me immediately, its very frustrating.

This game includes a good variety of game modes including online and campaign. The only downside to this game is that the computers are biased and often times will go after you even if you are losing by a lot. This can often times make the game very frustrating when they go after you when you are losing and easily allow someone else to win.

As a fan of the original game I would be tempted to give this app a high rating. I give it two stars because of the unbalanced gameplay. It is nearly impossible to beat the computers on some maps because they always receive favorable rolls and trades. The computers never offer or accept reasonable trades, offer them multiple times, and trade with the computer who is ahead in VPs. They also always roll a seven after you build anything or as soon as you pass the robber threshold. The roll immediately after they put the robber on you they roll the number they blocked. They also know exactly whats in your hand and keep rolling sevens or playing knights on you if you have a scarce resource, even if you are not in the lead. Even while playing with a stacked roll system to have probability determine the rolls, the dice are stacked against you.

This game is so fun to play at home, so I had hesitations about an online game, but I love it. I can play any time and different expansions. Love it!

I have been playing catan for over 10 years it seems and this was the first app I ever paid money for. It ha come a long way with its in-game AI. I pick up new games here and there and I can always come back to catan. I dont really do the online play, mostly computer. Over all, great game. Worth the money if u like the board game or just like strategy games.

Good game, most of the usual complaints on here are inaccurate (computer favors computer, rigged dice rolls, etc.). The down side is the in-app purchases, gets annoying. But the time you get bored and in-app purchase all the features you might as well have bought the actual board game and played with friends, in real life.

Overall a very good emulation of the board game. Computer opponents are well programmed. Occasional glitches that can freeze the game.

Step up to the challenge! Without the app "cheating" a little it would be too easy. So its rolled three 12s in a row but your 6 hasnt come up yet. Then they block your 6 and its rolled five times in a row. The computer also occasionally picks awful spots (how did you get that 6 on a 6-5-9 spot with the last pick anyhow??) and will build a road to nowhere instead of cutting you off. Laugh off the bad "cheating" like you did their beneficial "mistakes" at start beginning. If youre any good you should win anyhow!

Love being able to play this on my phone, its a great way to waste time but have fun with a strategy game. Highly recommend for anyone willing to pay a bit of money for a fun time waster and believe me you will spend plenty of time playing

Great game play, great online game play, and dont have to make any additional purchases unless you choose too.

The original game is fun but this app doesnt do it justice. Trades are difficult with the AI, 7s are rolled constantly...I mean constantly & dont expect to have many cards b/c your numbers are not rolled very often. Overall this app is not a good representation of the game at all.

Love the game. So much that Ive purchased all the various versions. All in all very well done. (To address pps issue with the irritating zoom, you can turn those off in settings!) Recently Ive started having trouble with my map variability. For some reason, I keep getting the same old tired map. Over and over. Like its stuck in "fixed board" mode. Please fix! Thanks!

Love the game love it on the phone. The iPad version is pretty buggy though-- something is off with the development cards. Overall great game.
